The first generation Mirage was released in 1996 as a 3 door hatch with the CE Lancer, it used the same front end as the CE coupe with subtle changes to the bumper. In 1998 there was a update to the Mirage that saw changes made to the bumper, lights & guards. While the CE Lancer stopped in 2003 the Mirage kept on going till 2004 and was replaced by the Mitsubishi Colt.
